This is a fantastic experience for our students to do and it is designed to give them the opportunity to learn about driver safety in a hands on and practical way in the safe and extensive facilities of Mondello Park in Kildare.

Students received talk on road safety and got even the chance to experience a break reaction simulator. Each student also received a 20 minute in-car driving lesson with a professional driving instructor, which will no doubt help them in the future if they decide to take their actual driving exam.

Students were treated to a presentation on the history of Modello Park as well as a tour of the facilities onsite including the Museum of Motorsport.

Each year, over a thousand students are invited to participate, and last year had over 350 schools competing. The competition offers students an excellent chance to develop their skills and confidence in public speaking, thoughtful argumentation and analytical problem solving, and is open to students of all ages.

The best performing teams in the competition compete in Finals Day, held at the historic Oxford Union. The Union is one of the most prestigious debating societies in the world, with an unparalleled reputation for hosting renowned speakers from around the globe. Established 200 years ago, the society has a long tradition of challenging thought and aiming to promote debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but around the world.

The event went brilliantly and we were delighted to see two of our students, DuiLan Sun and Millie McCabe (both 5^th), qualified for Finals Day (March 11^th 2023), held in the historic Oxford University.

We look forward to following their progress and seeing how they fair while debating in Oxford Union this March.

Starring our school Drama teacher, Fiona Condon as Faye this coming-of-age Irish romantic comedy has been described as Sing Street meets Ferris Bueller鈥檚 Day Off.

There were close to 20,000 entries to this year’s competition with 126 artworks winning an award. Lahita’s work will be included in an exhibition, to take place at the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast from 31^st聽May to 30^th June 2022. The winners artworks will also be displayed at the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh later this year.

Sumukh was runner up in the Meta Engineering category of the F1 in Schools competition.

He also claimed first place in the secondary school age group of the Engineering the Game of the Future competition. This competition is a joint initiative of聽 The Engineers Ireland STEPS programme and Gaelic Players Association.
