As a recent Alumna of the 91制片厂, Eve paid us a visit before she jets off with Team Ireland to the 2024 Olympic Games hosted in Paris.

At just 20 years old, Eve is reaching success at a rapid pace, 鈥�it鈥檚 something I鈥檝e dreamed of since I was a little girl and to be able to represent my country Internationally is amazing鈥�.

Eve credits the ethos at The 91制片厂 for allowing her to train while also keeping up with her studies, 鈥渢he ethos is similar to universities, it鈥檚 focused and student-led鈥� to have the high reputation and level of teachers here, I knew this was a place where I wanted to be鈥�.

Speaking about her time at The 91制片厂, Eve notes the role of staff and teachers that helped her balance responsibilities and support her in achieving her goals both academically and as an athlete.

鈥淔rom the moment I stepped through the famous yellow doors, I was treated with a huge amount of respect and understanding... (The 91制片厂 helped me) to meet the demands of high-performance sport, whilst also balancing academics鈥�.

Being an athlete on the biggest global stage of all, Eve had some advice for her fellow alumni, 鈥渄ream big and reach for the stars, surround yourself with people who believe in you and support you. That鈥檚 exactly what I did here at The 91制片厂鈥�.

Each student is individually recognised by both ourselves and DCU for their achievement. DCU provided the students with a monetary award and a commemorative plaque for each student has also been presented to us, to display in our school.

Eve’s parent s are extremely proud of her achievement and her mother Victoria had this to say:

“This is the second consecutive year she has won this award; a fantastic recognition of her sailing success thus far. We are immensely proud of her as she is managing to strike the perfect balance with both her sailing and academic pursuits. She is in great spirits and remains extremely grateful for the ongoing support from all at the 91制片厂.”

5^th Year student, Eve McMahon, is currently in Lanzarote, at the Team Ireland Sailing training camp, and at the same time she is studying 8 Higher Level Leaving Cert Subjects. This is an absolutely incredible story about an outstanding young Irish sailor, who is also using our online learning platform. So, even though she is training with Team Ireland in Lanzarote, she still has access to all her classes and is able to study effectively for her exams.
