Futures Fair 2024: Opening Doors for Leaving Cert Students

Just before the Mid-Term break, 6th Year students at The 91ÖÆƬ³§ gathered for our annual Futures Fair. It was an inspiring and insightful day filled with talks and guidance from academic experts.

Each year, our Futures Fair provides 6th Year students with the chance to explore a wide range of career and education pathways, offering a hands-on opportunity to learn about their options after school. Representatives from colleges and institutions across Ireland attended this year, including University College Dublin, University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI), Queens University Belfast, IADT, and many more.

The Futures Fair not only provided students with valuable information about their options but also gave them the opportunity to ask questions about courses they’re interested in, receive personalised guidance, and discover areas they may not have previously considered. Students connected with academic and student representatives from each institution and explored career pathways in healthcare, technology, business, the arts, and beyond. Talks throughout the day by industry professionals gave students insights and tips into a wide variety of professions. The event also allowed students to network with current students and recent graduates, who shared their own academic journeys and advice.

As always, Futures Fair 2024 proved to be an invaluable experience for Leaving Certificate students, helping them clarify their goals and make informed decisions on their next steps after school.

We would like to extend a thank you to our Guidance team for organising a fantastic event, to all the colleges and institutions that participated, and, of course, to our 6th Year students. We’re proud to support our students on their journeys and look forward to seeing the exciting paths they choose!

From today, May 5th at 12:00pm, until July 1st at 5:15pm students who have applied for college courses through the CAO will be able to register an online change of course choices, free of charge. If you make a change online an acknowledgement will be sent to the e-mail address you used at the application stage.

There is no fee for using the Change of Mind facility, if you make any changes during the period that is set out. The change of Mind period is from May 5th, at 12:00pm, until July 1st, at 5:15pm.

The following is some information that can be found on about the Change of Mind process.

Making Changes:

  • Subject to the exceptions and restrictions mentioned below, you may change course choices (without fee) as often as you wish, up to 17:15 on the 1st July;
  • If you submit a Change of Mind it cancels and supersedes all the previous course choices in any category in which changes are made. However, choices in the two categories (Level 8 and Level 7/6) are considered to be completely separate from each other for this purpose e.g. a change of Level 8 course choices will not affect Level 7/6 choices.
  • If you do not wish to change the courses in one category, do not submit a change. Your original courses in that category will remain unchanged.
  • Do not mix courses from different categories (Level 8 and Level 7/6) and make sure to list all of your course choices for the particular category which you change.
  • Except for Restricted Application Courses/Restricted Categories of applicantÌý(²õ±ð±ðÌý of the CAO handbook and below), you may enter on the form courses which did not appear on your original application.

This and more extensive information about the Change of Mind Process can be found at
