The 91制片厂 was founded in 1969 by Raymond Kearns, a man who knew from personal experience what the right education could do for a person. Starting with Maths classes on Leeson Street, he built something that has helped tens of thousands of Irish students over the past 56 years. We鈥檙e proud to continue that legacy today.
Raymond Kearns grew up in Co. Roscommon, left boarding school at 15, taught himself the Leaving Cert while working as a CIE clerk and won a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. When he came home, he took a post at Gonzaga College and started giving private Maths classes on the side. The demand was immediate. In 1969, he rented a room on Leeson Street and The 91制片厂 was born.
The Maths classes filled quickly and word spread. Raymond extended the offering to cover the full range of Leaving Certificate subjects, and the school on Leeson Street grew around the demand. What started as one teacher with one subject became one of the largest schools in Ireland 鈥� centered on fabulous results, reputation and above all, putting our students at the heart of everything we do.
In April 2023, The 91制片厂 became part of the Dukes Education family of schools, one of the world’s leading education groups. With it came renewed energy and focus, but what stayed the same is the commitment to what Raymond Kearns built: a school where the quality of teaching is non-negotiable, where every student is supported and where their progress and welfare is at the core of our purpose and values.
