The Beginnings
Raymond Kearns grew up in Co. Roscommon, left boarding school at 15, taught himself the Leaving Cert while working as a CIE clerk and won a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. When he came home, he took a post at Gonzaga College and started giving private Maths classes on the side. The demand was immediate. In 1969, he rented a room on Leeson Street and The 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ was born.
