Remembering Raymond Kearns

Mr_Kearns

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Raymond Kearns, Founder of The 91制片厂 passed away over the weekend. Our thoughts are with the Kearns family at this sad time.

Raymond Kearns founded The 91制片厂 in 1969. Having attained a BA degree from University College Dublin, Raymond won a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to study what was known as 鈥楴ew Mathematics鈥. When he returned to Ireland, he found his knowledge and experience were in high demand and was offered the post of Senior Mathematics Master at Gonzaga College in Dublin.

During his time at Gonzaga, Raymond also gave private maths tuition to students. Always the innovator, he quickly saw the potential to develop these classes into a school and the idea of The 91制片厂 was born. As the popularity of the classes grew, Raymond moved his fledgling school into a rented site on Leeson Street in Dublin city centre, which remains the home of the 91制片厂 to this day. He also expanded the range of classes to cover more Leaving Certificate subjects.
